Why new father Kyle Sandilands rejected offer of paternity leave
has chosen to forego his paternity leave entitlements and continue broadcasting his top-rating radio show from home.
The KIIS FM breakfast anchor, 51, became a first-time father earlier this month when his fiancée Tegan Kynaston, 36, welcomed their son Otto.
Despite KIIS’ parent company ARN offering Sandilands paid parental leave, he has opted to continue working his usual 6am to 10am shift.

Kyle announced live on air on August 11 that Tegan was in labour, before rushing to his partner’s side in hospital in time for Otto’s birth.
‘I am broadcasting from home for a reason and that reason seems to have raised its head now,’ he said at the time.
‘I think I might have to leave the show and go to the hospital. It’s time!’

‘Guys I’m so sorry! I feel very unprepared,’ he added. ‘I’ve got to run! I feel like I’m abandoning you.’
Months before Otto’s arrival, the shock jock surprised his long-time co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson by asking her to be his son’s godmother.
She immediately agreed, and Kyle then presented Jackie with a ring with the word ‘Otto’ spelled in Morse code in diamonds.
Kyle and Tegan began dating in late 2019, and 인방티비 in February this year announced they were expecting their first child.
